Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is an Mexican-American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor for news and also hosts SportsNation sometimes. She began her career at ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in securing her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami at which time she worked with the producers of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. They hired her as a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. The year 2009 saw her move into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as journalist for The Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The reporter covered stories about immigration and drug trafficking both on the Texas and Mexico border, she was employed as a journalist on Fox2 News, which is a Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was a substitute for weather and sports anchors. Later, she was anchor and reporter to Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was appointed to more duties. She covered the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and NBA Postseason, as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports programming Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she was the anchor. She was a host of sports for the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. She also served as anchor of the sports segment for Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were born in Veracruz Mexico. The family moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She's younger than her sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and relocated to Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she was remarried Fabio Fajardo who was a naval engineer who passed away in 2006 of kidney cancer. It was during a break in summer that she spent together with her sister and her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered the job. At the time of her senior year in high school, and having an idea of about what she wanted to pursue for her life, Antonietta visited her local University of Mount Union to see if it would meet her needs. It was an amazing campus. The university also provided her with the major that she desired. She finished school and enrolled at the University with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU where she's a member. They had a very close friendship. He inspired her to be confident and self-confident. His passion for journalism had a profound impact on her and she, in turn, determined to meet his standards and never let him down.
